Peter Malcolm Reaches 50 Caps
On Saturday, April 15th, Peter Malcolm became the forty-second player in Major League Rugby to appear in 50 matches.
Peter Malcolm first began playing Rugby while attending Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. He went on to play at Wheeling University, where he was selected to the USA U20s playing at the 2014 Junior World Trophy and was also selected as Collegiate All-American three times.

Following his time at Wheeling University, Peter played for Ohio Aviators and Austin Huns, the latter winning the 2017 USA Rugby Division 1 Club National Championship. He made his MLR debut for the Austin Elite in 2019 after a pre-season injury in 2018 forced him to sit out that season, making 10 appearances for the Austin side.
Peter signed with the San Diego Legion (Legion #62) ahead of the 2020 season. He made 33 appearances for San Diego from 2020-2022 and joined the Seawolves in 2023.
For the United States, Peter served as Captain of the USA Selects during the 2017 America’s Pacific Challenge. He earned his first cap with the USA Eagles (Eagle #505) on February 4, 2017, against Uruguay. He has represented the United States 11 times.
Ahead of today’s match in his MLR career, he’s scored 10 tries, made 226 carries, has 1372 meters, made 383 tackles, and has 434 ruck arrivals.

The latest of the first forty-two players to accomplish 50 caps for MLR includes Eric Howard of NOLA Gold, Mark O’Keeffe of the Chicago Hounds, and Zach Pangelinan of the Houston SaberCats.
Stay tuned for more announcements as players reach the 50 caps milestone, and cement their spot in Major League Rugby’s history.
