Loosehead Prop, Jamie Dever – Old Glory DC
Dever provided Old Glory with an excellent attacking platform out scrummaging Erich De Jager of New England. On attack he had four carries for 10 meters. On defense he completed 11 tackles and in the breakdown he had 23 ruck arrivals.
Hooker, Michelangelo Sosene-Feagai – Old Glory DC
Sosene-Feagai continues to throw bullets right down the channel on lineouts for Old Glory allowing their lineout to flourish. On attack he scored a try from seven carries for 26 meters and four tackle breaks. On defense he completed seven tackles and in the breakdown he completed a breakdown steal and 20 ruck arrivals.
Tighthead Prop, Dino Waldren – NOLA Gold
Waldren helped NOLA establish a solid attacking platform throughout the match against Rugby ATL. He played heads up rugby that allowed him to score two tries with one being a seven-pointer. On attack he had 9 carries for 39 meters, two line breaks, and two tackle breaks.
Left Lock, Isaac Ross – Austin Gilgronis
Ross was a dominant figure in this match, the Seattle lineout did not exist as ross stole half of their attempted aerial set-pieces. On the ground he scored two tries from seven carries for 56 meters, a line break, two tackle breaks, and an offload. In the breakdown he had 12 ruck arrivals. The aerial game he had seven lineout takes and six lineout steals.
Right Lock, Nathan Den Hoedt – Los Angeles Giltinis
Den Hoedt proved to be a weapon for the Giltinis, he was automatic in the aerial game with 11 lineout takes, additionally he made the life difficult for the San Diego set-piece by stealing two lineouts. On attack he made six carries for 62 meters, a line break, four tackle breaks, and an offload. On defense he had six tackles and 22 ruck arrivals in the breakdown.
Blindside Flanker, Callum Gibbins – Old Glory DC
Gibbins provided a dramatic and much needed increase in physical intensity for Old Glory. At times he was everywhere when it mattered making 15 tackles on defense and 21 ruck arrivals in the breakdown. He made four carries for 14 meters on attack and provided Sosene-Feagai a solid target on his 3 lineout takes.
Openside Flanker, Lucas Rumball – Toronto Arrows
Rumball continues to be the kind of the breakdown as he won three breakdown steals against New York bringing his total to 16 on the season. On attack he made eight carries for 55 meters, three tackle breaks, and two offloads. On defense he completed 11 tackles and had 19 ruck arrivals in the breakdown.
No 8., Jamason Fa’anana-Schultz – Old Glory DC
Fa’anana-Schultz also showcased his physical intensity for Old Glory against New England. On attack he made 12 carries for 55 meters and a tackle break. His intensity was on display with 11 tackles on defense and in the breakdown by completing a breakdown steal on one of his 12 ruck arrivals.
Scrum-half, Michael Baska – Utah Warriors
Baska returned to his match one form getting to rucks rapidly and providing excellent service to the Utah attack with a 69% quick ball rating. On attack he scored a try from two carries for 29 meters and a tackle break. Knowing when to clear, he made seven booming box kicks for 227 meters.
Fly-half, Robbie Povey – Houston SaberCats
Povey is a massive threat with the ball in hand and a front foot attacking player scoring three tries off six carries for 64 meters, three line breaks, and seven tackle breaks. He helped Houston keep pace with Utah by using his foot to kick eight times for 237 meters.
Left Wing, Manuel Montero – Toronto Arrows
Montero was a game changer against the New York side with his physical running style that proved unstoppable as he trotted away to scoring a hat trick. He carried 11 times for 94 meters, two line breaks, 3 tackle breaks and an offload.
Inside Center, Ned Hodson – Austin Gilgronis
Hodson provided a linchpin for the Austin attack as he would connect, carry, or distribute. He ended up capping his monster game with a try in the corner while the clock had ticked over 80 minutes. On attack he made 13 carries for 106 meters, a line breaks, six tackle breaks, and three offloads. On defense he completed five tackles and had 19 ruck arrivals in the breakdown.
Outside Center, Ben LeSage – Toronto Arrows
LeSage had a monster game in the mid-field reading the New York defense perfectly. He had a brilliant pass to Gaston Mieres that yielded a try. On attack he had seven carries for 109 meters, two line breaks, four tackle breaks, and an offload. On defense he completed seven tackles and in the breakdown he completed a breakdown steal and had 10 ruck arrivals.
Right Wing, Mika Kruse – Utah Warriors
Since coming to Utah, Kruse has been excellent with the ball in hand finding the space to cut through the opposition’s defensive line. He scored two tries from seven carries for 66 meters, a line break, and a tackle break. On defense he completed five tackles and had six ruck arrivals in the breakdown.
Fullback, Adriaan Carelse – Rugby ATL
Carelse has been a huge impact for Rugby ATL with his ability to find space while attacking but also the gaps in the opponent’s backfield as he kicked seven times for 283 meters. On attack he scored a try, made seven carries for 97 meters, a line break, three tackle breaks, and an offload. Additionally he scored 11 points from the tee with three penalties and a conversion.
